Fantastic, 1 Euro charge for use of a toilet on the plane courtesy of Ryanair. Thanks, but no thanks. I hope the other airlines don't take it this far. *shakes fist at Ryanair
I don't know about this considering that I, myself, switched from Vodafone to O2 given their very unstable and unpredictable bills. Yes, I checked online for unbilled payments, and I still get a huge surprise when I check my bank account whenever Vodafone debits it.
So fixed line service by Vodafone will save you money. Their initial target market is for businesses.
The bundle will also include free local and national landline calls, and will include a choice between 3Mbps or 7.2Mbps DSL broadband.
We'll see about that.... in time.
I'm sure most people have been affected by the outage, and here's their explanation on why it happened.
Initially I was wondering what affect this would have on gmail users, expecially business users, but Mick commented that it's barely a blip when it comes to corporate outages, which come to think of it, is true. I remember day long outages several times a year, and it happens to both large and small companies that I've worked for. So two outages and only a few hours each is not that bad for one year. It certainly hasn't stopped me using it.
What do I do when I wiggle the mouse on the iMac first thing in the morning? Check mail, of course. I thought it was network issues or proxy settings as Mick was fiddling with the network and was working perfectly. I had Twitter reloading in another tab and I flipped over to that tab and what do you know, Epic Gmail Fail
It was great fun watching Twitter Fall of Gmail. Not sure what the story is, but everyone is talking about it.
UPDATE: Check out the gmail help on google groups
UPDATE: Even BBC picked up on it.
The Fresh Air Fund is now accepting applications for counselors for this coming summer of '09. We hire staff members with a wide range in some pretty amazing fields. We are looking for college-aged men and women who love to work with children.
We are also always looking for Fresh Air hosts for the summer to open their homes to a child, and any help would be appreciated

Dublin City Council has announced plans to ban cars going to and from Dame Street through College Green. Only public transport is allowed.
It involves introducing a public transport-only “gate” at the junction of College Green and Grafton Street in front of Trinity College. This would prevent cars from entering Dame Street or Nassau Street from the north or east of the city and would stop cars from Dame Street driving into Westmoreland Street.
This seems to be the initial steps to include the link the LUAS red line to St. Stephen's Green. At least something's in motion.

Well, an agent has been trying to ring me, it's not helped by the fact that I kept missing his calls. Plus he did not leave a message. Anyway, the reason was I was suppose to view a certain house, and someone has put an offer in, 420K for a house that is marked for 450K (asking price). He said the vendor was not happy (not sure why he told me this), and asked if I still wanted to view this house. More so, and to the point, if I was to make an offer, would I go higher? Of course, I declined to disclose anything, apart from the fact that my husband needs to be partake in this type of conversation. I told him to let the vendor and buyer go ahead with what they are doing. I can hear the disappointment in his voice, even though he was trying to sound cheery about it.
Seriously, I am not going to bid up on a house where house prices are falling. That's just ludicrous, "take it or leave it" will be our thinking when we put down our offer.
With grim news of more layoffs, latest I just read in the Indo about Erricson laying off 300 people. At least the interest rate is due for another cut next month (doesn't stop me thinking about when interest rate and inflation willl sky-rocket in the near future).
Some good news, the Irish government is finalising a deal with mortgage providers to advise and hold out on legal proceedings if homeowners gone into arrears.
My husband and I are still house-hunting, it's a strange time for us. Getting a mortgage and a house when so many are losing their jobs, but let's not forget that there are new jobs created as well. The media is not helping with all their one-sided coverage.
