3 weeks, 3 weeks...

So, only 3 weeks to go... 3 weeks till what? My wedding! And I cannot wait for is the honeymoon, to be more specific, T O K Y O!!! Ok, I am dropping by HK to say hi to my relatives, then Sydney, Cairns and then T O K Y O! Heh, a little excited that is all. \\(;*_*)//

So February is not a bad time to visit. Phew. But I just realised that we will be spending our Valentine's in Tokyo, the land of the wierd. And where girls gives choccies to their fellas, well, also female collegues buy them for their male collegues, no it's true!. They really do! Crazy, isn't it.

Everyone deserves to eat

You decide how much to pay for what you eat at One World Café in Salt Lake City and the SAME (So All Might Eat) Café in Denver. Even if you have no money, you can do the dishes, sweep etc to work up to the amount you ate. Some people are more than generous as well, even leaving money without eating anything.

A little closer to home... locals whine so much about the Polish over here, you know the usual, taking our jobs yada yada yada. But alot of the Polish who come over end up homeless, and Capuchin Day Centre helped many of the Polish. Now the Polish are returning the kindness by giving generous donations. (From Indo, free registration)

"In the early part of the year it was half Irish and half Polish, but as the Polish got jobs that number has dropped,"

Coffee Beer

It looks like a stout, yet it tastes like coffee! Yikes, imagine what you need now in the morning when you have a hangover, more coffee?!? If you can get any sleep after all that caffeine that is.

What a penthouse!

Well, was at a house warming last night. The house to be warmed was actually a duplex penthouse, situated at the top of Jameson's brewary. Impressive as it sounds, it looked the part as well. The main floor housed the bedrooms, bathroom, kithcen/dining room. Also a huge balconey covering a wide area, which leads onto the roof garden. Up the winding staircase, we reached into a very large space, with an equally high ceiling. The ceiling tapered up like a circus tent, and at the top, it had some windows, sort of like a look out post. With the Christmas lights, and the mellow lighting, it was really nice and atmospheric (aside from the odd cheesy chrissie songs >-< ). That floor itself also has a "smaller" balconey. We went out to have a look, and the view was amazing, albeit a little chilly, impressive nonetheless. I have to say, this is what I expected to see when someone mentions penthouse, not a small top floor appartment tagged as being a penthouse. But I suppose, a price tag does come along with it. \(;*~*)/

But one thing I did not expect to happen was the fire alarm going off around 5am this morning! Some gobsh*te set off the alarm, and our block and the block next to us were affected. Funny thing was, we were just discussing the "joys" of living in an appartment, including the random false fire alarms going off, becuase of incompetant tenants.

Christmas is coming

So it's that time again. So quick, isn't it. I think everyone has their happy and their "bah humbug" moments. Here is a nice reason not to be grumpy, a gingerbread version of carcasonne.

Gov Phonelines Bilingual madness

Granted, Ireland is taking Irish seriously, and government public information are now all bi-lingual since July 2006. But even with telephone services (Indo onine - need registration).

PEOPLE left hanging on the telephone while a voice gives them interminable "options" are to get a double earful from Government departments because now they're going to have to listen in English . . . and Irish.

I think they are in cohoots with the phone companies to sqeeze every cent from us, while we wait for all the options bilingually.
