Since I am working in a company where I have meetings with different groups, East and West (ok, generally West), I always find the times confusing, and everyone knows the probs of missing a conference cos you are a few hours out, or other people arranging meetings with you, but it is on sometime after midnight, your own time! Well, check this URL out, it is quite handy I must say! http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

Just a little piccie I drew of me bbq'ing in HK. Aah, memories. BBQ's sweetcorn cobs, spare ribs, roast pig and goose, meatballs, pork, beef and marshmellows. And some beer to wash it all down...
Found this article china.org's article "Chinese Ready for Coffee Culture. Starbucks says that they happily welcome the competition. ;) But just hope they use real milk. I remember having Blu Mountain coffee in HK, and they don't use proper milk and the coffee tasted cack. I am sure the coffee is fine, but not with the milk they used. I noticed a greasy layer on the surface of the coffee after adding the milk. An even wierder experience was in Spaghetti House in MongKok. The milk was actually boiled! That too gave a greasy layer in the surface of a truly awful coffee (not sure was this even ranking in the University coffee leve!!!). Just hope this new chain is just as good as Starbucks. This chain is calledCoffee Beanery.
So, I don't know enough Chinese words to read a Chinese novel. Hmph! Therefore I am setting out to see if I can get translated novels (I know it is not the same, translation of one language to another always loses meaning of what the author is writing about). But until I get a grasp of the Chinese ideographs, this will do for now.
Here is a site I found with some classic literature for sale (whole set), but unfortunately are in Chinese only. But there are 2 novels that are in English. I will place more links up to similar sites in later blogs. Oh and this site also hosts some fan fiction as well. Jin Yong's Reading Room.
Fun to find out about some classic stories, check here - http://www.china-on-site.com/. This is a Chinese culture guide which includes some literature (includes some comic strips).
Some philosphical stories - Zen Stories. Simple pictures illustrating the stories.
My BF recommended me to use Phoenix browser. It was only a 6meg download. And not installation needed, and it is fast. Pluse it has multiple tabs. Opera is good but it has ads at the top and it is an 11meg download.

I have a blog link to a beer blog, why not a wine blog as well!?!
I would like to do something like this. But I need to have a bit of inspiration. I still have to do a Chinese New Year Coffee Monkeys Special. Check the following site out, it is really quite nice and simple - Beas Diary.
Quite like her site overall - http://www.kerismith.com/.
I don't agree with what double-ya Bush is doing,a nd here is the one of many No To War sites - No War Blog.
Munster won. And they did what they need to do to win a well, and boy were they celebrating like mad tonight. Driving around packs of drunken pasks of 10-20 people in the middle of the road. Taxi ranks starting to fill up and fast food joints full of people. So placing this link here is quite relevant - Beer Blog. Yes, there is a Beer blog surprisingly enough!
Eurgh, and you need plenty of beer to stop the pain of looking at the following Yahoo news article - Yahoo's Oddly Enough. Youch!!!
What a nice looking site, and very easy on the eye. Frowning Monkey and I like the name of the site as well. :)
Check out blog - http://www.monstersfromtheid.com/2003/01/18.html Just referencing from this guy's blog. I know there is already a William Gibson blog...
I was at the post office in town. I noticed that the lad in front of me was posting a video cassette to Big Brother! How sad is that?!? I was very good. I did not snigger or make any snide comment (me? I never do anything like that)... I was ready to explode with laughter at the silliness of what this guy has subjected himself to, in making this video. Just needed to comment on that in my blog to get it out of my system.
Oh, look what I found... and anti-idiot site! http://www.anti-idiot.com/
You can do that here at http://www.blogwise.com. I've http://irishbornchinese.kaykay.com submitted.
(No not online, but with a real radio!) Listening to 2FM, only tuned in last night when I was driving home. Nearly swerved off the road laughing my head off! She is so funny! Her page at 2FM - Ruth Scott.
I'm actually just recovering from keeling over listening to her, thank god for the radio ads! At least I can take a breather.

Not sure why I am still reading this. But it is getting a bit boring for me now.
This is for all you people obsessed with your site's stats, and do some people's strange search requests lists your site!!! Have a goo, it's very funny! http://searchrequests.weblogs.com/
Argh! I want broadband at a reasonable price! What is wrong with Eircom??? I wonder when they will give in to an agreement on the EUR30 a month flat rate for us ordinary home users.
What I am planning to do is cut the 2nd phone line in my room (used to go online) and get broadband. Get a n/w server going, and link up the pcs around the house, so it is easier for everyone to go online (with my BF's help of course ;) )
Down with Eircom...Boooooo!
I did not know that. There is a whole website dedicated to this - http://savefarscape.com
You can download posters (pretty cool), they are wanted posters - http://www.watchfarscape.com/campaign/posters.php
First we are frozen to death, now the weather is trying to blow us away to kingdom come! Grr... Trying to get contact with my relatives. It's still slow. Just waiting for them to reply. Am using opera browser now. Downloaded the full 11megs! And it was on my little 56k modem. It took 1 hour and 40 mins. I started downloading at 2 something AM. 40 mins left and I was keeling over with tiredness. So I rested my eyes and woke up just in the nick of time (around 3:20'ish AM) Phew, just in time to go offline, ok the main thing that I was not online till 6 in the morning! It's much faster now, but is it necessary to download the JRE as well. It's humongous... I'm not pointing any fingers at who I am annoyed at. :)
... to see if I would like it or not. It's a Nokia 8310 by the way. Anyhoo, it was working fine until I switched it off, and it would not come back on again. The closest I found to this problem is that it could be from dodgey covers being swapped and causing damage of some kind. Anyhoo, the power button is broken, wonder if Repairing Handbook for Nokia 8310 would help!
Argh! Couldn't get online with my machine in my own room. Used my dad's laptop to connect instead. Hazard a guess that it maybe the cruddy cable, and guess what? I was right!!! Heh.. well that is the first. Having a techie for a BF has its wonders...
Just got in touch with some of my relatives in Cork. Funny that it is the first time since I talked my Aunt and my first cousin since I can't remember when. I mean a searious talk, not just a "hi" at weddings and stuff. But it was a great feeling. But under unfortunate circumstances brought us closer. But that is life isn't it. Everyone in their own world, trying to earn money and do the best for themselves and their own family. But what gets left behind is our own blood kin. But this is why I have setup the site for, to get more of my family together (all the 2nd generation Irish Born Chinese) and meet up and keep contact with each other, no matter where we all are, and whatever we are doing. It's a very feel-good feeling. I am so happy! :)
Way cool! His books are great (check out his first few books like neuromancer...)
Here is the site URL - http://www.williamgibsonbooks.com/index.asp
Well, I am back unexpectedly because of unfortunate family-related reasons :( Where have I been? I've been in HK for the past 2 weeks. Got to walk in the country parks, BBQ'ing, go to a games expo in Wan Chai (more in my other blog when I get time to type it up), different markets, Golden Arcade (plenty of hardward bought here!) and we also acquired ourselves (my BF and I) a Panasonic Gamecube/DVD player (multi-region unlocked). Heh, it's brill. Review and piccies later as I do not have the time for that now. Plus review on Monkey Ball 2 and the Sonic bumper games pack later! (Neil would be camping in out flat for the next few months!!! ;-P
So that's the story of my sudden disappearance of the face of the earth the past 2 weeks. Did not bother to go to Internet Cafe as I thought my cous was installing ADSL, but that was too late for us. And now I am back. Maybe I should do a travel blog???!?
