Commuters stick to buses, thank you.

Funny how Irish Rain manage to get the viaduct line up and running (and on schedule), and people rather travel on buses as it's less crowded. The current "temporary" bus routes may even be permanent if the demand is still there. Probably costs cheaper to get in on the bus as well.

Dublin losing BMI?

I really hope not, or else the choice is Aerlingus again. Mick and I are not getting Ryanair (unless we really have to, but they don't land in Heathrow).

Apparently, BMI is running short on funds to keep going, and this might be one of the routes given up.

Ach, it's annoying, it's a good service and it may go away. I just hope it's all hearsay.

Landline going away

It's funny that Mick and I recently moved into our new build house, and decided not to get Eircom's connection and I see this article on the Beeb site about slow demise of the landline. First of all, we don't really use the landline, the connection fee is high and we didn't want to pay line rental. So we went with UPC, painful as it was for my hubby to get us connected (UPC's complexity in their billing system was giving everyone a pain in the head), it came with digital package, broadband and a telephone. We don't really use the phone though, it's mainly our parents calling us on that. We primarily use the mobile, or Skype for long distance. Maybe it's to do with the generation and infrastructure.

Fresh Air Clear Vision

Sara Wilson kindly asked me to mention the Fresh Air Fund, tis all for a good cause.

This past summer OneSight reached out to us and helped over 3000 Fresh Air children by making sure that every child who needed the gift of sight was screened. The Fresh Air Fund is so happy OneSight and their traveling optical clinic are able to help at Fresh Air camps.
