Well, it sort of has I sujppose.... wedding shopping for the most part has begun when I was in HK last 2 weeks.
This morning I decided to head into Hickeys on Henry Street, they were very busy, no-one paid any heed to me. Which was a bit annoying, ok, they had their hands full with 2 brides having a fitting and a bridesmaid to boot. But at least show me the catalog. I think I saw a dress or two.. but not that friendly and inviting is all I could say.
Headed to Town Bride in Powerscourt. The guy there is very friendly, I arranged my appointment and he invited me to check the dresses there. There was someone there already, so I took a quick look around, but decided to leave and check them out proper come day of my appointment. Went to another bridal shop on Wicklow Street, this place was extra busy, needed to ring doorbell to get in. Got another appointment down.
Decided to check out Barry Doyle's at Grafton Arcade for rings. Some nice stuff, pretty mush chosen that place.
Checked out Appleby's, as that is the place I got my ring in the first place. A young lad was our sales guy, a pretty poor one at that. If he was in HK, he would have been fired straight away. He had no sales pitch, only showed us really normal rings, no display cabinets or anything. I kept asking for anything different, but he inclined to show us what he had there. As I said, pretty dire, and I think he thought we did not have the money or something like that. Anyhoo, I have arranged to meet with the lady who sold us the engagement ring initially via a quick phone call (with a quick comment that the guy who showed us the engagement ring was not really good). Mick also got a fine pair of soft leather Italian made shoes. So there you have it, I am back home, and going to have a late brunch.
