Was wondering who the big celeb was at the Clarence Hotel and the Gardaí escort with the entourage of stationary large black tinted vehicles outside it. This was what I was thinking as I was on the no. 68 across the bridge towards Parliament St. I thought my BF was joking at that we should go to Easons for Clinton's book-signing until I saw Bernie's entry.
...but fight, fight, fight! Got this from [dive into mark] Kitten fight and tried one of my own... 2 of my fav foods... onions and garlic and you can guess which one won. (Hint: have a go and put in Sun Microsystems and Microsoft and see what you get.)
Awol a new trend! What is it, you may ask... It's alcohol without liquid, yup.... you inhale it! And you thought alcopops were the worst invention! (secretly wants to try it out)
Yeah, retro gamers out there, check out this link to a site of this lucky guy who happen to go to the Classic Gaming Expo in San Jose .... I am sooo jealous. (I want my famicom sob sob)
Heh.. my distraction of the night!
Which monkey are you?
Another pointless diversion from Bijouriel
Weel today has certainly been fruitful. As I have ordered Eircom Broadband (I know, what have I done, with Eircom with all people), I have gone out to town today with the intention of burning my credit card to a cinder!
Shopping list (after I had a nice lunch at the Metro on Willaim St) was :
- Netgear WG511TGE 802.11g 108Meg CardBus Adapter (ok close enough)
- Netgear Wireless - 108 Mbps/802.11g - model WG311T
- Netgear Wireless - 802.11g - model WG602
- Maxtor DimondMax Plus 9
My next purchase was suppose to be a barebones PC, but I was looking for Aopen XC cube but seem to be out of stock in it-direct, so nearly ordered from dabs. Unfortunately komplett.ie did not have any, so I looked for a shuttle. None in stock. So I ordered from Peats, and yes I know, I should have walked there when I was in town. And I did. They had none in stock that I see on display. But I finally ordered it. Costs a wee bit more... about 280 (incl VAT and del)
My credit card is so toasted... and all this so I can have a router/firewall/file server for my family at home.
Oh, and talk about Eircom. Well, I rang them up through 1800 503 303
and sales picked up. Asking them why a technician never dropped by 2 days ago, like he promised (via phone call), the guy said with an exclamation, "Oh they have you down with homestarter pack, not technician". Hmm, I said I know, I ordered the homestarter pack (summer surf promotion, remember... self-install and free router). The extra was the technician on top as we have Eircom Phonewatch installed. We have all the stuff, just no technician. (I liked the flustered sales rep at this stage, such a stress relief from day-to-day work). He said he will pass it through straight away to the technician's department (heh, whatever, as long as someone gets out to the house). And will not get back to us till Monday, as there are only 10 people in at work today taking basic inquiries (like..boohoo, you get paid so grin and bear with it). So I will follow-up on Monday, if no-one arrives at my parents place. Ready and waiting, as I told him before I hung up, "there will be someone there everyday and at all times at the house" (no excuses this time). We'll just have to wait and see... wait and see...
Woah! How uncanny...? What you may ask? This comic from Apple Geeks. It reminds me of a friend who loaths Macs, and this comic sums it up nicely.
So my BF has been playing Doom 3 for the past week or so. When I first laid eyes on it, well... what I can see onscreen, I think Angst shows that perfectly.
Oh, and not forgetting MacHall encounters with Doom3 (scroll down, it's a funny read )
But it does look spankingly good! And with the rez turned up on whatever spec machine my BF has... it runs really well. Only upgrade this year, was RAM. Last I heard... he is in hell! But it's soo dark! But I still find this mod so funny. Wonder if anyone uses it?
Has anyone see The Dog videos, as they are soooo cute! I see these dog piccies all over HK while I was over there. Was just wondering what they were all about. Well, now I know...
Neil would wet himself when he sees these Street Fighter Anniversary Controllers, and maybe this will come in handy.
...for my friend's ibook problems. (wave of OJ over ibook, since his blog entries are not there to the world anymore), this interesting article about [metal-rubber] would mean an end to all gadget-terminating-accidents.
I hope my BF's mom is ok, since she lives in Orlando now, a bit further inland from Port St. John (where she use to live).
Wonder if an ex-work collegue of mine, who recently moved there because he enjoys flying helicopters is ok as well. He's based (the last I heard) in Titusville.
Nearly got myself a pink GB SP while I was in HK, cos it's just a colour that you cannot get over here, and plus I am a gurl... lol But I did not in the end though, getting enough stick from my friends about my cuddly toys in my cubicle. ;) But I have to say, it's just a different colour from your usual silver, blue, black and red.
Even I cannot take this horror of a machine. I thought it was already ott on the tvs, vcrs etc. from Disney... but a PC!
Yeah, my brother got a Nokia 6230 in HK, and seems like there is not enough to go around. Wonder if my bro will see if on ebay... :)
Boing Boing: Your Neighbor Totoro House replica planned in Expo 2005 in Japan! (Start scrimping and saving!)
It's one of those days again. I really am annoyed with my ipod. Just annoyed with it. Not sure why I got it in the first place. I am more happy with the Sony earphones I got for it though... *sigh*
...but there is still time for ice-cream, but I don't think I can stomach some these flavours of Japanese ice-cream! (Heh, and my friends thought I was crazy about Beer ice-cream!)
