Listutorial - CSS Basics with lists

This must be all over the place by now, but I don't care, I am keeping this for my own reference. :D "Listutorial takes you through the basics of building CSS lists with "background images for bullets" and "simple rollovers" with a few variations along the way."

OU site still down

No! After trying to get my assignment done, I tried to go to OU site. But OH NO! The site is inaccessible. I wonder if it is the swen worm? Anyway, whatever it is the server is dead, I hope their sysadmin peeps are good, although I have been trying to get to their site since 6pm today (nearly 5 hours!) I need to get to it to upload my assignment. Anyway, I have mailed my tutor a few times already (I am so paranoid), plus included my assignment. Why the rush, I am off to US tomorrow morning and tonight's the deadline, so any extensions, I will not be around..sigh.
So hopefully, my tutor will accept my attached assignment, although her email address is OU's as well...double-sigh! Fingers crossed.

Sun laying off 3% of workforce

Got wind of this from a friend who was readint the Register - Sun shocks showgoers with layoffs, and I did a google Search: sun layoffs
The thing is, one source says it is 1000, while another is 1080, but all in all it is 3% of its workforce.

Hurricane veering away -- phew!

Thank goodness, it is veering away from Florida! Reuters - Dangerous Hurricane Isabel Aims at U.S. East Coast
I have never driven abroad before and I did not want a hurricane to go on top of to-worry list which includes driving in US (considering my experience is only driving in Ireland).

Free courses from MLE soo this autumn

Continuing from my previous entry about MIT free courses, seems like the courses that Dublin's Media Labs Europe provides will also post their material for free. Got the news from ElectricNews.com's article on the roundups in the papers, check out the last paragraph.
Can't seem to find news on it on Dublin's Media Labs Europe site.

There comes a time when you want to say enough is enough

Why? I am not a tech person. Trying to understand tech stuff after reading, re-reading (and a million times after that) just still seems hopeless material to me as ever! Sigh...
I hate it, I can't understand the flipping tutorials, honestly, how much more pathetic can you get! (Boy am I opening myself to an onslaught here!)
I'm recovering from a cold (yes, I am whimpering here), trying to read tips, tutorials, specs, the lot, and my head is done in, and for what? So I can hand in some piece of code to prove my ideas in my docs are sound! Cripes, wish I can stop being cocky and think I know what I am doing sometimes.

Should we be worried?

Yes, the economic downturn is slowly turning around (as far as IT is concerned). But here in Ireland, is the high cost hurting us more than ever? Yes, it is mainly all manufacturing that is being re-allocated (mostly), but warning bells from say Oracle's Irish boss, 3Com's re-allocation to Eastern Europe or Asia and more tech bad news from ENN. Sigh... Is it time now to move away?
