Woohoo

Got my Palm Tungsten-T! Got it at a special price from my company. And it rules! Although my BF has been using it more than me (he ordered one as well, but has not arrived yet). But TNT is the best, I ordered it last Thurs, got it today afternoon, and it was easy to track, much better than DHL. But hey! That's just me...

LAN party!!

w00t! But I am not playing. I am not a pc gamer. But this is a LAN party, and as LAN parties go, there should be alcohol. My bf just got back from Prague, and brought back a bottle of absinthe. So I went online and searched how to prepare it to drink properly (unless I want to hullucinate!) and found the following site: Absinthe -Wilde green fairy liquid Where I got instructions, after I read most of the history of course, and proceeded with friends of mine to make the concoction! Panic attack to douse the flames in the beginning, but Oish managed to get the fine balance of absinthe and water. So I have shared 3 glasses of absinthe mixture so far. And I don't think I will be in a state to go to the pub to meet some friends of mine in town later, when this stuff kicks in. I am planning to make some more in a mo... w00t!

More on the art theme

I love this style used in the cartoons drawn - http://www.shag.com/gallery.html ou'd propb seen some of his works in ads, well they do look familiar somehow. Although this type of desgin is sort of the rage at the moment.
Um, unfortunately, the title of his site is not what it seems, it's the last 2 letters of his first name and the first 2 letters of his last name - His bio.
Man! If only I can draw like this! - http://www.excelsiorstudios.net/ And check out the links to other cool artists sites as well. So much talent!

Passenger finds 'chilling' note from bag handler

On another note, a tragic incident of mother and sons die of suffocation from sealing themselves in against a chemical attack in Israel. Goes to show how awfully wrong some suggestions are for people in these type of situations. And to think of it, that sealing all doors and windows were advised to US citizens!!!

Walkout protest against war in Iraq...

... is so well planned that we stop working on the time that most people have their lunch breaks anyway! And the best one would have to be when they thought that the war was starting on Paddy's day, that they were staging a walkout! For us in Ireland, it's a Bank Holiday. Maybe it is the thought that counts! http://www.unison.ie/breakingnews/index.php3?ca=9&si=32191 (from The Irish Independant - free registration)

Another Grand Design House

This is a big.. I mean really big ambitious project. An ultra modern see throough house built with the latest contemporary design. Yes, I quite like watching Channel 4's Grand Design. But this week's house brief overview can be seen here The guy who owns and manages this building site has no previous experience in building. You can see where this is going. The guy is actually quite down to earth, but a bit too ambitious. A very subtle sense of humour as well. :) I like the part where he screamed at a supplier, but when he was talking to the camera recounting his experience so far, he mentions that the person whom he was scream at might not have an eardrum at all. And he was still furious. But he also has his own website, which is good since his house is still being built! Started 2 years ago, and his online diary was only updated a few days ago. Here it is : Could 8 project.

How much?!?

Argh! The cost of RDRAM nowadays. Ok, ok, they have dropped in price. My BF brwsed the web when I was on the phone to him over the weekend to check out the prices of PC800 RIMM RDRAM at komplett.ie and Compustore. The difference in price!!! It costs 107 euro in komplett.ie and 128 euro in Compustore. Since I was planning a trip to my local PC world, I thought the worse scenario would be the top of that price range. Boy, was I wrong! I made a bee-line for the sheves that has the mems, and guess how much they were? 250 euro!!! EEK! So I am going to order the mem online now.

My BF has ordered my RDRAM, it costs 98Euro now from komplett.ie (2 x 128MB instd of the single one). And looky what I found about world chip price - World chip sales rise despite seasonal dip. (from The register)

Silliness, closer to home this time

Just heard from my BF about the mystery of the ATM disappearance from our local newsagent across the road. Apparently it was stolen! Yup, since it was a convenient size (fit through the door), and an even more convenient location in the shop, uh-huh... just in the door, it was just waiting to be dragged off. Well the shop is getting another ATM machine, but hopefully they would locate it in a more secure part of the shop, or bolt the thing down more securely at least! :)

Grand Design House that you must see for yourself

Out of the many ridiculous house designs which do not suit its surroundings, or/and inappropriate investment of large amount of money, and luck! But this one house really was worth it, and it is beautiful: The wooden house in the woods (funnily enough).. It is environmently friendly, running water from spring and rainwater, solar power for electricity, and the guy who eventually lives in the really nice. unique house, did a lot of the work himself with volunteer workers. It is like a fairy-tale house.
Other houses (ok, the warehouse looks cool as well!), but the box shaped one is truly awful! - Rest of the houses.
