Mushroom, mushroom

There's a high demand for mushrooms apparently. What's weird was my mom commented the same thing, but more on the catering level. She was wondering why so many customers order so many dishes with mushrooms last Saturday. Coincidental, I think not.

And not a badger in sight.

P.S. It defo couldn't be because of this.

Tweets ahead of the news

The red line LUAS tram in Dublin crashed into a number 16 bus on O'Connell Street. I did not hear this from the news, even the breaking news. It was from a tweet from a friend who just so happens to work in a building overlooking the scene of the accident. This tweet was just a little over an hour ago.

This is quickly followed by RTs (retweets) from another friend of mine:

murf RT @MarkBagnall: Luas v Bus on O'Connell St, really hope no one was seriously injured http://twitpic.com/hxjqw (via RT @ChristineBohan: )

Around 20 minutes ago, it appeared on AA roadwatch's site, around the same time, it appeared on RTE.ie's news site, and my friend's photo was used.

So you see how media coverage has changed, especially on terrible accidents and tweets help to warn other people about them in case someone they know are in one, or avoid the area when commuting.

Ryanair jacking up the prices again

Ach, I really hate them. Here's what will be coming into effect on October 1st:-

  • Checking in first bag - EUR30 (or online for EUR15) - one way
  • Checking in second bag - EUR70 (or online for EUR35) - one way
  • Checking in skiis - EUR50 (or online for EUR40) - one way
  • Overweight bags - EUR20 for every kilogram

Only upside is they are increasing the weight of two checked-in luggage from 15 to 30 kilos, i.e. 15 kilos each.
