Fight club... menlo park style

Saw this article about a real-life underground fight club in Menlo Park (it's in California, right smack in Silicon Valley). That is just crazy, all those tecchie geeks bashing each other up. Funny if that is the way you get up the ladder, by beating your boss up. *lol

Some vids at Inside The Gentlemen's Fight Club.

More job cuts for Sun?

Donthca just wish life that that predictable. As soon as McNealy steps down as CEO, job cuts are winging its way to Sun land again.

Sun has reported a net loss in 16 out of the past 20 quarters, and in January announced plans to close more than 120 offices in coming months and eliminate jobs in legal, administration and other areas as it consolidates the companies.

Updated does not really mean updated

Now what the heck am I talking about? Well, I found a wee problem with the Atom <updated> tag, it's not what it seems. The following is what I tried to change to get an entry to highlight itself when its contents have been modified.

Tried modifiying this in <feed>:

Indicates the last time the feed was modified in a significant way.

And then this in <entry>:

ndicates the last time the entry was modified in a significant way. This value need not change after a typo is fixed, only after a substantial modification. Generally, different entries in a feed will have different updated timestamps.

Well, I needed to have an entry that I have in a feed I have subscribed to, to be highlighted in my reader of choice, which is NetNewsWire (and other readers such as SharpReader, Tristana and FeedDemon), whenever <updated> timestamp has been updated. I thought it was the seconds that was throwing it off, well, I got a second opinion. Yes, Mick had a look for me, and found that does not indeed do what it says. So my only way of getting individual entries highlighted by whatever readers that are used is to update the individual's <id> tag. I know, it's not correct, and defeats the purpose of having an <updated> tag. But for now, this cannot be handled by most readers out there.

Printscreen on my Zboard

Well, I have been using the WoW keyset for Zboard for awhle now. I like it, the only annoying thing is that it does not have a printscreen. Well, a bit of searchng in the Zboard forums has my answer...

It's "Shift+1" (The button at the top of the Zboard). Could not even find that in the manuals! But it works, yay! I can screenshot again, espec now that I have been working on my new alt character... elf hunter called Whykee.

Up Munster!

Munster did it, they won the final! What a match, on the edge, and Stringer... what a stunt he pulled, I laughed off my seat as the opponents only tweaked it when he ran around them for a try. He well deserves man of the match. I see the streets of Limerick are painted red, I have never seen so many people on the O'Connell St. The atmosphere is amazing at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, and in Limerick (from what clips we can glimpse on tv). So it's for everyone!

Well done to the Munster team! Huzzah!

From the producers of..

Funny that... an ad came on for Alias (yes, not that funny), and it ended with "From the producers of Lost and MI:3. It's THAT good that they had to tack that at the end, and I thought Alias ages ago. Didn't think it could have gotten as far as season 5.

This year's Leeeeroy!

So this is this year's Leeroy Jenkins. Oh boy, that is a lot of cussing! I don't find it as funny as Leeroy Jenkins though, maybe because it does not have a video, just the audio.
