Frickin' random calls during the day

I've just so happen to have a free day off college today, and received to random phone calls today. Once from Sky down in Cork Call centre asking if we are happy with our provider. Which I said we were. And the other was a call to support Cystic Fibrosis for Temple St Children's Hospital. Now, I'm all for charities, but when:-
a) A caller's id is secret
b) get a phone call randomly during the day

I got rather pissed off at the guy. I told him that I do not know if he is legitimate or not, and I know it's for a good cause. My husband would have told me if he contacted this charity. I gave the guy what's what, told him that if I wanted to support a charity, I would go online or drop in the centre myself. And not hand over my details to a random caller during the day asking for my details for the donations. It's just not on. I told him that I did not believe that he was legit, and I am not interested. I was fuming at this stage, and I hung up before I actually started to curse. Yes, I did not curse as at all!

I rang my husband up, as I was quite upset with the guy who may/may not be taking advantage of the charity, but for all I know, he is. I asked if he contacted the charity, and I got a confirmation that he did not.

So people, stop ringing random numbers. If you are a proper charity, advertise, spread the word differently, not ringing random people up during the day, with your caller id marked as secret. It raised my suspicion, who can blame me. I'm paranoid when it comes to giving personal details regardless if it's over the phone, online and even in person.

So to all those who get random phone calls during the day, be wary. Just because they sound nice, does not mean they are legit.
