[My Own Stuff] Another thing that irks me...

...is when person at the register in Eason's in Limerick (and female), is when they see a tecchie mag and suppose to have a gift that was stuck on the front cover, but I would need to retrieve it when paying, they just don't give a toss and pretend they don't have it. What do I mean by that? They will make an attempt to look under the desk, and pretend not to find anything, and I would point out that it was stuck on the front cover.

Like yesterday for example, I was hoping to get the male sales assistant, and I got this girl. I knew it would happen. "You can get it off the web!". Um, hello, I read the inside page saying it's on the front cover and nothing about the web. I even pointed out to her. Anyhoo, I resigned to the fact that she was not budging to bend down to check if the freebie was under the desk somewhere, and I was holding up the queue. It's not the gift I'm huffed about, it's the fact she just waved her hand, gave some pitiful excuse and hoped I would just go away. Well, I am not going home, with a big "What if...?" hanging over my head. So, my cousin pointed out that there were markings of sellotape marks left over from something being torn from the front cover. So I walked up to the till, queued up, of course. Praying that I will get the male sales assistant, as from past experiences (last one not counted), they seem to be a little bit more competent. Well, guess what? I got her again. And she looks surprised, I as adamant that I was correct and she was wrong. Her male co-worker knew from a glance that I was right, and she relented and asked him. He pointed further in the desk below, and lo and behold, my free gift came to light. I was grinning at that stage, and she begrudgingly apolagised for the inconvenience.

It's that fact that I was right that she couldn't be arsed to go and look for it properly. I might be a pain in the you-know-what, but sometimes you can't blame me for it. I paid alot of money for that magazine, and it just so happens to have this free gift. If I knew that it was incompetence instead of a real reason why the gift is not available on that mag, like it's only available in UK, or you really retrieve it from the web, then so be it. But lord of strawberries and honey on high if anyone who try to think otherwise, and pull a quick albeit a lazy one on me.
