I don't know who won, but it is always feels good to see girls beat (or kick)the guys.

been to all the sites and went through all the links.... but got futher and gotten better... M's last name is Emma M Saville. how would you improve the show if you had the chance?

Um, prob all the niceties will be taken away. Actually have a proper martial arts school policy laid down, similar to Shoalin Monks way of life, and they even toned it down for non-monks who train there, but it is hard-going.
The padding should go and allow them to perform fully to there potential of their martial art abilities. The padding made it so restrictive, it was like watching a street version of a boxing match. There was no proper control of the discipline they have learnt.

um...does anyone know anything about toby? actually i think it was quite a pity for him to get eliminated cos i definitely do not think that he was the weakest in the last few challenges so he didn't deserve to get out. if you do know anything then could you please post it up here? thanks

Me too, i think it was a pity Toby lost! But Paul really was a good fighter! Though he didn't really do that well in some challenges. I felt sorry for Emma in the final fight...Paul really beat her huh!

Dear readers, just sitting in an internet cafe with M and both found this site. who ever wrote the intro to this site should be given a medal! I agree with sum of the points u made but i dont think anyone can pass judgement who was"nt there. If your dad thinks he's Bruce lee i will gladly give him the details for fite school2, not diss'n your dad dont get me wrong but dont tar everyone in fight school with the same brush. I'm glad you feel this strongly about reality tv coz the whole things a set up and sky1 should be ashamed for not portraying martial arts in the way it deserves. on the other hand M has told me to stop being so negative in this email. love and peace to all. also i forgot to mention in my last email that if the fight school instructors are the cream of british martial arts then we have no hope the only one who really showed real concern for the students was Becky Riggs. This lady stayed true to her word as an instructor. her heart and will power was never matched by the other 2instructors. as for them. GLORY HUNTERS! i dont know how they can call themselves teachers when they show such little understanding of their art and students in their care.

dom- if it is really you - all i can ask of you is -'why are u so *****d off - you let yopurself down, in our family tou were winning' but both you and Toey are amazing martial artists, but both of you showed an immaturity in you style that Paul surpassed. One of the main attributes of any style is indomitable spirit. Toby studies my style and i was embarrased by his attitude and arragance. You should be proud that you made that you made the grade and got onto the show- but don't be mad - in the end Paul had what it took to be a winner - don't blame an
yone but yourself for your loss. My children think you are amazing - and you are - but withy maturity you will be an brilliant and not just good martial artist. p.s. good ,luck to both you and m - you make an amazing couple.

hi all some interesting comments, hi m, hi don how u guys doing, looking at some people's comments they seem very negative towards the show and i have seen comments on other sites saying we were all crap etc and that they can do better! look i can tell you from first hand experience and so can anyone else from fs. unless u were there you can never know what its like, it was HARD and id love to challenge anyone with that attitude. my whole life through martial arts i have trained real hard and have trained for 17 years now, so believe me i know what i am doing, and i know that fs training was tough even by my mesures and i was the first out so u should get a ruff idea of what it was like. on a more personal note, hope everyone from fs is keeping well i know i saw m and don at the fs2 auditions and it was nice to see u guys. m i know u know Russ who is a sfx engineer at thorpe park working with u and emma well he has now signed up with me and is a student of mine now and thats because of u so thankyou. you guys really will have to come and visit me in devon real soon ok.

I love the first fight school, I was completely hooked and have all the episodes on tape. I have spoken to Becky by email but have not had the oppurtunity to speak to anyone else. I applied to fight school 2 but could not make the audition due to a family tradegy, anyway, love all you guys and hope the second series is as good as the first (which i doubt it will be) U guys rock!!!

I was watching the episode with the Wushu Flag dance yesterday and noticed that most of the people who got hit was from the Grandmaster's assitances who after you had jumped high enough would lift the flag to head height so it still hit you. Did anyone else notice this? I remember this is what happened when Don got asked to step out.

Well being a TaeKwonDo man myself the breaking was enjoyable, also Toby's shout will stick in my head for eternity. I absolutley creased up when Grandmaster Lau actually said I will make my decision with my knowledge and wisdom (talk about blowing your own trumpet). I don't really have anything I don't like about it.

The name doesnt ring a bell but maybe by face he will, What team are you from? mine was the london team when i fought ,do you you fight? if so what weight?isnt the scorpions in doncaster? they have quite a good team lasttime i checked, my master is master ki young sou ,but he has just took a job at a korean university in LA as their trainer so it would be a long way to train with him again!
who is taking the grading on sunday? usually master park takes them, has he come over again? i met my wife fight at his open in stuttgart, he has a very good comp every year, some of the best in the world go ,last year my friend lost to hadi sied from Iran he lost 7-2 i think they won more or less everything there as per usuall! nice talking too ya good luck in trainng

i know of gary sykes was the team coach now they have a spanish trainner never met him yet but my friends say hes good.yea only 19 and married but im happy so got no probs it makes life a lot harder and makes you grow up fast but shes worth it. she was iranian female champ for 5 years, also been here 2 yrs and won the big comps here.

hey guys! i'm from manila, philippines. i watched the show from day one til the end! :) ask micz how fanatic i was during the season of fight school one. i had this website where i posted my daily journal and i would put some screen shots of FS for rememberance! :) i would even talk about the whole episode, who won, who was the strongest, the weakest... i'm an avid fan! then fortunately micz surfed for FS infos in the net and she found my site! :) she even fed me info about andrewspink.com, about the shifus' email addresses, etc. weeks later after the season, shifu beck replied to my email saying that she's glad to know that i'm a fan of FS and she even told me that FS2 might push through on sept2003. that's what she said last april [or may]. like others, i tried to look for info in the net about the students and my fave student EMMA!!! :) the renee zellweger student of fight school! :) but, i only got 2-5 pictures of alex [one of my faves] and paul, the winner. last april, andrew sent me emails every now and then, he even sent me pics of FS. :) thanks man! :) btw, still remember me? i hope so... i wish to hear more from the fans and especially to the students of FS1. i'll bookmark this page and drop a line everyday! as what andre spink told me before ending his emails, "keep kickin'!" ;)

hey everyone, you probably know most about about me now, just thought I would say that if anyone knows if Emma is single please pass on my admiration for her. I think shes great. I don't think any fight school people will be at the grading laura, sorry.

wow i thought people would have stopped mailing by now! ive missed out! yeah that flag thing was terrible i went out in spectacular form i larsted about ten seconds before those those gorgeous girls gave me a wack with the flag! went to the sports show in earls court (london) it was mad, i had to fight in the teams and scraped a win, but had to cus london predators needed to win to clinch the national league, i think a gave every one a heart attack with my inconsistant fighting cus it came i won 9/8 quite lucky, too much time at uni i think! oh yeah i saw john fashunu that bloke out of i am celeb get me out of here! he's bloody massive in real life! hello to all the fight school competitors yeah we need a good reunion, just say the word and i am there! hows wats the rest of the china crew up to andrew hows your schools coming on? hope you film stuffs going well mate, and em hope your close to landing that lara role, my girl freind thinks she looks like her, i told her that you look like her and she gave me slap and almost knocked me out! hehe shouldent have shown her those moves! danni man let me know wat your up to! i think i'll end my novel now! take care!!

Sorry to hear about Emma being taken, its a dark day in Paulville, : ). I have heard that Shifu Nathan Lewis is getting into film work, I thought his first acting role was being the hard guy which everyone hates in Fight School. Surely that cannot be his attitude all the time otherwise he would be a very lonely man. Anyway, Micz & Ice have asked me to do an episode review of my choice and also a full Fight School review for the upcoming website. I have agreed to do this and you will have to wait to find out what I am doing until the website is launched. : )

and remeber: Keep Kicking and Punching and Grappling and one day you will get that remote control from your dad. Persistence is key

Sorry for stealing your catchphrase Andrew, I was running out of things to say. So did the main contestants get to meet all the reserves? I assume you all flew over together? How did Toby get picked out of all the reserves, was it a case of pulling a name out of a hat or something?

Anyway enough questions, I have been on you site recently Andrew and downloaded some movie clips, I like the Capoiera kick but the landing on the jump split left a lot to be desired.

How did all the FS students get on the show, were talent scouts sent out to all the major clubs in certain areas? Did the students get to meet the Shifu's before heading off to China or was the first you met when they introduced themselves on the show?

Hi paul, no basically for me i dont know about the others but one of the reasearches had heard of me before and called me and said would i like to audition so i said yes and was sent a form to fill in, but i think you just had to go on the sky 1 website and download a form to audition. before going to china we all had to meet up for a training day in reading. i stayed the night up there before the training day and meet danny and sue first, the next day we went to a school or college and used a hall where we met up with the rest of the gang and we met the masters except the megatron, and they put us through some small challenges to give us an understanding of what we would be doing. we also had a photoshoot that day for sky publicity and went through phycologocal tests to check we wernt mad ( so how don got through that bit baffles me :) only kiddin don)

after that day we didnt meet until we left for china.

So all that bit about "I am Shifu Clive" that was just for viewer refernce. Did anyone their like the megatron, I know Danny said he did, but everyone else seemed to dislike his manner. Do you think he was a bit over the top I mean it wasn't boot camp.

I have seen one of Danny's films too, he sent it to me as I only live a few miles away from him. Its called The Jade and it is really good, i think he directed it too. Great film.

Anyway, does anyone else from FS want to get into film work, I have noticed that some of the students were already actors. Danny, Don, M doing theatre work etc.

Which one are you Don? What flip are you performing? I downloaded a clip of Yen Wen Qing doing Chang Quan and he is amazing, its from 1990. Is he or was he well known for being the best or something? His jump spin kicks are like 8 foot up in the air.

Hi people ! Last year I saw fightschool on Dutch television. It is one (so not) the best martial arts program I ever saw on television. For everybody who doesn't know this: Paul won in Fightschool 1. I train at Andrew's school and all I can say is that he's the best instructor around. Being biased I would have to say he should have won, but all the contestants were fantastic anyway and those I've met all seem to be great people too.

I recommend the school to anyone in the area.

Hi all this is Andrew from Fight School here,i know there are some mad fight school die hard fans around and you are all really in to it so bad, well i have a pair of my trainers that i bought especially for when i went to china and they are a bit worse for wear now over a year and a half on, my girlfriend said it was time to get a new pair, so i have finally agreed to. The pair im giving away i wore on the set of fight school when entering and walked in them all around china, plus i have done some mad kicks and tricks in them so they have had some good use. Rather than throw them away i thought id give them away to the first person on here who tells me why they want them, ill even sign them too! now i know don klass might want them cos he's my biggest fan :)but im giving them to the public, i await your replys

Hey guys, I have just started cross training in Kickboxing and as such have gotten into the sport of K1. I was wondering if any of the fight school pupils had actually ever fought about either K1 or UFC fighting? Also does anyone talk to or have contact with Paul Bernard he seems to be the most elusive of the bunch, well him and Allie. If anyone has contact info for Paul or Allie please email it to me, (well see if its ok with them first of course). Its a shame the 2nd series had to be halted due to SARS, do you know if they are still planning to do it though?

You ppl know Emma from fight school was well fit, she was reason enough to watch. Good series too. Some talented fighters but, I know I can do better. Can't wait for the second series.

How can you possibly say you can do better, all you saw was an edited version made to fit one week into one hour. I do not know what happened ALL of the time but getting up at 5 and doing what they did all day every day for 2 weeks takes a lot of stamina and endurance. You say they don't know you so they can't judge you, well you cannot make an educated judgment yourself without all the facts.

o.k. Ye I made an assumption of how fight school was for the contestants by making out it was easy and saying I could do better. Av got a bad habit of writtin or sayin things that give the wrong impression of me to ppl.
Ye they worked there asses off for 2 weeks but, Some of the fights where just a mess. There wasn't any technique, it was just sprays of punches and kicks that had no real target. So what I mean is ye it was a rough two week but still the fights could have been better. And I say that with no disrespect, it's just one persons opinion.
One last thing. Can't remember his name. That lad that was in the final three ppl, it was emma, paul and another lad and he was a gimp. Someone should have just propper smacked him. How could ye put up with him.

cheers paul mate, paul does have a very good point the editing of the program did not show the tecniques shown. the area was very large which meant the fights contained alot of movement. a fighers movent is half his of her fight( Muhammed ali!). The program edited out the movment which did not allow a fully painted picture of the fight! Also the rules which we fought under did not allow all styles to show if there fighting methods. but i agree some of the fights did bit contain enough technique! but hay that happens in any level of fighting! cheers

ppl like quoting other fighters on here don't they. Feel free to use your own material ppl. The world don't need copies, just more origionals. I know what you mean though when ye say that we only saw the edited version, they could have added abit more to it. All in all though I loved watchin fight school, it had bad points but it was still class. Propper gutted when danny and that other lad went though, funny guys. They should repeat it or bring it out on dvd with some good special features aswell.

hi adelle if you want my trainers then there yours, give me adress and ill send them too you, yea i have done loads of mad kicks in them and there were like i said in fight school ( check out first show when we all walk into FS and u can see them. I'll sign them too ok, Hi alex mate how u keeping! John like alex said it was edited loads but also when ur training all day long and your body aches from head to toe its difficult to fight giving it 100% when we were all completely drained. If each of us were fresh before the fights we all would have done much better.

Don told me he has a small part in a film soon so welldone matey!

cheers john yeah fight school did have bad points it hada alot but it was the first martial arts show of its kind to be released on tv so it was gonna have some sore points. you have to look at people that have achived and use wat they took a life time to achive to yor benefit thats how people progress no one is truely orginal but evouloutions of the past why try and re invent the wheel? if you are to become a better fighter you have to see hows its done first before you adapt it! alie had fantastic movement, bruce had the quickest side kick in the world gearge foreman had the hardest punch, looking up to them is no crime its how one progresses!

Hi alex how u keeping dude, hope ur training is going well. i test for my 3rd degree black belt in a couple of weeks and am competing in bristol tomorrow so that should be fun, hope ur pushing ur limits.

Hi guys its M from fight school.how my 2 favourite boys doin?(thats u guys andrew and alex!)i just want to say to john you made me laugh readin your comments, you have absolutly NO idea! and now unfortunatly for u you may never know. did u audition 4 fs2? maybe what u wanted to c in the fights were what u see in choreographed fight scenes in films etc but u have to remember this was real and like the boys said we had weeks of tourture before we fought everythin took its tole the heat especially and with all the paddin, the lack of food and energy not to mention challenges,trainin and punnishment all before a 3 round fight so yeah john our fights could have been and would have been much better if we were at home fightin but we wernt and im sure we all gave it as best as we could at the time! i dont mean to get at u i just want u to try and understand!
i did a sugar puffs commercial the other day with danny and don it was wicked i was surrounded by 20 martial artist and all boys except me and the lovely chloe bruce,wot a lovely girl and fab martial artist. danny is cool,as lovely as ever and don is a busy boy at the mo doin well. he says hi to u guys too!

I do know what u mean M but ain't nobady can say I have no idea. Ye I didn't do the fight school thing, I would have liked to give it a go, but am goin to train in China soon anyway for a year to extend my martial arts abilitys so it ain't so bad. But I do know about workin hard cos only yesterday I had a full contact fight in trainin with a bouncer who kickboxes at the same studio as me who weighed a good 5 or 6 stone heavier than me. I did win but I didn't come out the ring unharmed even though I had the sparring gear on. I go runnin every day, I train on my weights every day, i don't smoke, drink or do drugs. I constantly work hard to improve. So ye I didn't do fight school which is a shame and I don't know how hard it was for u but I still work my ass off here everyday and i get a kickin every now and again but it's all part of learnin. But like I said, I liked fight school and was gutted when it finished. Can't wait for fight school 2.

Hi M how did you get into that sugar puffs ad. I wanna do stuff like that i think i could, can't wait to see that on TV. Say hi to don and chloe bruce rocks. Just did a tournament yesterday and came 1st in forms and weapons and won the Grand Champion trophy. These trophies are the biggest ever, they are each about 3 feet tall, WOW. They even introduced me to the tournament as being off Fight School so i got pestered all day but it was fun, Eight of my students came up and competed and we came back with 9 trohpies so that was a great result.

She has... but I sent her an email back to send me as much photos as she can about FS. But that was like 3 days ago and she hasn't replied to that yet. Also Andrew...I believe u said u would send me some photos too right? I emailed Emma like a week ago but she hasn't replied either.

Hi all,
Here in Israel we only get to watch Fight School now. I've just finished watching episode 5 (actually I only started to watch from episode 4) and I love every minute of it. Sure, there are some ridiculous TV elements like the master's assistants and their shiny outfits, but on the whole it's a wicked show.
I especially like Emma. She seems like a good person as well as an excellent fighter. It's a pity she hasn't won (which I know from reading all the messages above here).
Keep writing and let us know what's going on with everyone.
