Mad loos and vending machine wonders

One thing that is really strange about Japanese culture, their very sophisticated and/or complicated loos! I remember my BF went to Japan (cos of work), and found that the offices like to outdo each other with loos with tons of functions! But a loo with an SD slot is another thing altogether!

Other then that, how about vending machines where you can buy your mem cards, comics! Wonder how long that would last outside of Japan. Re-stocking it would be just useless.

Street salesmen watch out for now

Read this on BWG's blog. Not a stranger to be bombarded by annoying salemen on the Golden Mile, this is somewhat some good news. My friend got a fake rolex for his dad for a couple hundred, and guess what, the bit where you twiddle to set the time fell off! A bargain is not always a bargain in HK, expecially if it's from the street sellers!

Smoke-free Irish pub in HK in jeopardy

The Irish pub that banned smoking will could be in jeopardy because they are being prosecuted for obstructing the pavement from the smokers sitting outside. I think it would be great, no more smokey clothes, but that is my opinion. But the HK government has been proposing this for quite some time. And alot of people apposes it. So only time will tell.

Happy New Year!

I wish you all a happy new year, and all the best for 2005! Some cool panoramas for all to see, welcoming in the new year.

We must not forget the tragedy on Christmas day. It is also nice to know that HK government held a fundraising show and also that China pledges more aid for disaster-hit countries

Other news:
* Celebrities from Hong Kong, Taiwan and China to hold charity show for quake victims
* HK people open hearts, and wallets

People in HK experienced the coldest new year's day in 43 years. So remember to pick up the phone and make sure your loved ones are wrapped up snug and warm.
