Ok, I have written 2 articles here on HK people being materialistic (kaykays's search result onsite on "materialistic").
But this article shows something that is very impressive indeed - HK Ferrari fanatics gather for world's largest parade - and all for a good cause., Po Leung Kuk.
BBC article on Crisis in Tuscany's Chinatown. I didin't realise there was a large Chinese base in Italy. But it is bad news to hear that business is not what it's use to be. It's so bad that immigrants (illegal or otherwise) cannot find jobs and move elsewhere.
As apposed to UK, where Manchester's hidden community article by BBC shows the ongoing problems, and the divide there is in the local Chinese community and "the invisible".
Anyone been there yet? (Or is it up?) - Hong Kong Government Tai Po Complex piccie here.... It looks huge, I only seen it work in progress 2 years ago.

Goes to show how well China is doing. These are the moments that I am proud to be Chinese. :) No-one looking down on you, treat you better.
Anyhow... there's a Canadian teacher and she's Cantonese. She teaches origami and also cutting paper into lovely shapes. It's held in Kilmainham, the Modern Art Museum of Ireland (I think that's what it's called). It's very unorganised however it's very interesting.. problem is though.. it's only for really small kids cause it gets a bit boring after a while...

BBC online - Chinese parents and kids fight over new year gifts, not really a problem with me personally. I only get Lai Sees from parents and relatives anyway. Nothing to hide. ;) Can do what I want, preferably save it (heh).
Hmm, racially motivated. Two men and a teenage boy have been arrested in connection with the fire bombings of three Chinese restaurants in Perth, capital of Western Australia, a week ago. In this day and age, sometimes I do just wonder...
Have you ever thought... and I don't mean to be a horrible critic or anything.. but have you ever thought that people treat you in such and such a way just because you look Chinese?? I don't mean a bad way or a good way but everyone seems to have a stereotype and stuff...
Went to a karate competition today in which people thought I'd be really good cause of my culture.. they got a really big shock...
Just wanted to say what I thought and stuff also noticed that people can go on a little about chopsticks, chinese culture and just everything.. I'm rather ashamed when people ask me about stuff because I know nothing!
Oh well if you have any thoughts about this, post on the forum!
There is still hope! Xinhuanet - Wedding sends culture shock Chinese people are now alot more open now.
Comments welcome. Or just discuss this at IBC forum - Meeting People.
Nothing to do with IBC, but...
Tide kills 18 cockle pickers in Lancahsire in England. It's still unknown if they were being exploited by cockling. Really sad. Many were in their late teens and early 20s as well.
