Well, I can confirm my friend who came to HK with me did no get accosted at Golden Chicken Mile, heh.. cos he was staying at a hotel further in the city. (To his disappointment... heehee) 
But sure do agree with being hasseled to buy "new watch"... I nearly punched one out in Tsim Sha Tsui, and one gave out to me for cursing at him.
