You know what? I would love to be able to build a house you see in HK New Territories. It's 3 floors, and are tiled. It has a flat roof, but hey, they manage to get through typhoons. Yup, I remember when I spent some of my lazy summer days while I was on hols over in HK. Sitting at the stairs between the 2nd floor and the roof, with the soothing breeze blowing through the door on the roof to the window on the stairways. Watching the sunset on the roof (and bitten by mosquitoes at the same time!). And of course, watching the stars at night. I love my relatives in Lam Tsuen. BBQs at night. One thing I don't like are the visious gaurd dogs in every house in the villages.

If you one day really build such a house, I can recommand you a designer/ architect: my own brother:D He also designed our own new house, which I think is really good: elegant & economic. He is (part-time) studying architecture and has gained experiences in several projects at work in Germany. I realize that good design can really make huge difference. For our own house he did the design, even he was very busy at that time. I think my brother really loves architecture. He always gets new idea. And he could improve his own design over months or even years. He told me once that his dream would be having 10 years time for designing one single house. Then it would his perfect house:) Well, I hope we all can realize our dream one day: build a house in Lam Tsuen, design a perfect house, having a house on a pacific island (my dream)...
